PHILADELPHIA (JSC) — Good evening everybody. The People’s Podcast is back as 2017 is mercifully coming to a close. It’s a mixed bag this week as we celebrate Detroit, but also hit an interesting postscript.
As we talked about last week, For the last 2 months, it’s been an endless parade of men being outed as being the literal worst in all forms of business, industry, education, sports, and politics. I also noted that I’ve heard a multitude of stories from women I know in this business who have been harassed, propositioned, and even assaulted by men on their jobs. Well, one of those women came forward with her story this week.
Adrienne Lawrence, who appeared Episode 20 on in Oct. 2016, came forward with her story of the harassment and alleged retaliation she faced while at ESPN on Wednesday in the Boston Globe. Adrienne, who left from a lucrative career as an attorney to become one of the “Worldwide Leader’s” rising stars, alleges that SportsCenter anchor John Buccigross tried to turn their professional relationship personal and sent multiple shirtless selfies to her via text. Her spurning these advances seemed to coincide with her rapidly being slid down the totem pole and eventually out of Bristol. In an unexpected postscript to Episode 58, I address this in the first half of the show.
Coming up on Episode No. 59 of JSC Radio:
This week, we’ve also added a new sound to the show as the homie Ossim Jones joins the crew with some of his dope beats, recommended by the Good Doctor himself. Be sure to hit up his page on Soundcloud to check out what he’s bringing.
