PHILADELPHIA (JSC) — Hey Now. What Up Doe, y’all.
I wanted to to write this to personally thank you for being so supportive of me and JSC throughout 2017. We just finished another insane year and I couldn’t have made it through without you. So, Thank You. Dammit, thank you. It is greatly appreciated.
The toughest part of doing all of this is that it’s been a titanic feat getting support — both financial and emotionally — for the work that I do. It’s HARD, y’all. So I’m also writing this to let you know that your support has not been in vain. Little by little between here, Instagram, and my page on Patreon, the show has slowly gained a foothold. For that, I am definitely appreciative.
The reason I started the Patreon page was as a way to give back to fans and supporters who were willing to put their literal money where their mouths are. The money itself helps keep JSC Radio and THIS Website alive (i.e. paying for upgraded equipment, paying for the website subscription, the Dropbox and Adobe subscriptions, buying a mixer and new mics, etc.). Well, very soon, the fruits of that labor will start to come to fruition as I will be getting a new mixer and at least one new microphone for better sound quality.
Your continued support made this happen and will make things such as a second mic — which would make in-studio and more face-to-face interviews possible — the next move as this year rolls on. Again, THANKS TO YOU! Y’all are awesome.
Going forward, the next major goal is to get a new computer. I’ve joked about it a few times in blogs on this site, in person at seminars, and on the show, but I seriously do this from an Apple Mac Book that I bought when I started graduate school nearly a decade ago. To give you an idea of how old this computer is: the battery basically gave out four years ago. Apple no longer makes replacements for it. Therefore, this thing must stay plugged in at all times and it moves as slowly as an old Windows PC on dial-up at times, which makes for even longer nights editing shows and getting new stuff out to YOU. There’s a reason there’s often a bit of a lag time between when shows hit Soundcloud, iTunes, Audioboom, etc. and when a blog hits here. The shit literally takes hours to do because of the computer.
So going forward the rest of the year, look for an even bigger push for Patreon and Sponsors because I would really like to turn this old computer into something new that will help me get better content out to you faster. I want you to continue supporting JSC because it is definitely working, but also I could always use more help.
I have hundreds of likes on the Facebook Page — which is amazing — along with nearly 3,000 followers between the two handles on Twitter. But I have the damndest time getting some of these page views and downloads up. So what I’m saying is that if you support me and this show, I need y’all to be vocal about it. Be loud. It’s cool. How do I know what to keep doing if you’re not saying anything?
So feel free to drop this site’s link in your social media and as well as a link to the Patreon Page (which, by the way, if you aren’t a Patron, you should be) on your social media and help get the word out for me. The more people I get, the more money comes in, and the more great stuff I can give back to you.
Plus, if you have a business or nonprofit that could use some promotion, let’s work something out. I’m trying to help you build too.
Feel free to support this show by subscribing, sharing links, giving me a rating and a review on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and/or Stitcher and telling others as I continue to build this thing.
In closing, I wanna once again thank you for being brave enough to take the leap and support JSC. Look for the Return of #JSCWOW as well as I need to get back to dropping these gems on you too. Thank you for everything in 2016 and 2017. Let’s build in 2018.
Until Next Time, That’s The Way It Is. Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Take Care, God Bless, Always Dare to Be Different, and G.O.M.A.B. Σ
