What’s Happening Blogosphere!

What’s Up Y’all. My name is Jay Scott Smith. I’m an award-winning broadcast, multimedia, and print journalist currently working and living in Philadelphia.

I’m a native of Detroit, MI and began my professional career as a radio broadcaster in 2005. Overall, I have 12 years experience as a journalist, broadcaster, voice over artist, and audio production specialist.

I also host JSC Radio. I started it in Marchcropped-professionalheadshot2.jpg 2016 and it can be found on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, and Soundcloud.

I’m a proud alumnus of Michigan State University (Go Green!) and I received my Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in the Motor City. I’m also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. as well as the National Association of Black Journalists.

I have had the honor of covering everything from a high school girl’s soccer championship to the Division II NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament to the World Series. I’ve also covered major news including racial intimidation at Michigan State University, the 45th anniversary of the 1967 Detroit Riots, the 2012 Presidential Election, and the George Zimmerman murder trial.

Along with my local work, I have made multiple media appearances national appearances on ESPN Radio’s SportsCenter Tonight, NPR, and MSNBC.
